Empowering Birth:  Your Guide to Culturally Competent Care

Black Midwives play a vital role in improving the health outcomes of Black mothers, birthing people, and infants.  They can provide culturally competent care, advocate for patients, and ensure that Black mothers feel secure and cared for during prenatal care.   Black Midwives can also help reduce bias in maternal healthcare because midwifery is relationship-based care.

As a Community Doula I am dedicated to celebrating and supporting the Black Midwives in our community who are providing high quality, culturally competent care to birthing individuals and families.  Follow along as I highlight the work of these incredible practioners and connect you with the resources you need to find the perfect Midwife for your birthing journey.   Join me in amplifying the voices and expertise of Black and BIPOC Midwives in Metro Detroit.
